Bat Removal
Humane Bat Trapping & Relocation in Corpus Christi & South Texas
Hearing Things Go Bump (Or Squeak) In The Night?
Hearing rustling in your attic or seeing shadows swoop by at twilight? Bats are fascinating but make terrible houseguests. They seek warmth and safety in attics, walls, and chimneys. Unfortunately a bat colony can grow quickly, creating noise and significant mess that can damage your property, and pose serious health risks to your family. If you suspect bats have moved in do not panic and do not try to handle them yourself. You need professionals who understand bat behavior and the specific laws protecting them. Elite Exterminating is here to help you reclaim your home humanely and effectively.

3 Signs You Have A Bat Infestation
Noises in the Night
Bats are nocturnal so if your attic sounds like a track meet after the sun goes down you likely have guests. Listen for high-pitched squeaks scratching or the sound of soft fluttering wings in your ceiling or wall voids.
Mystery Droppings (Guano)
If you find piles of dark pellets that look like mouse droppings but crumble into dust when touched (do not touch them with bare hands!) you have found guano. Unlike rodent waste bat droppings are often found in concentrated piles directly below their roosting spots.
Greasy “Rub Marks”
Bats have natural oils on their fur that leave dark greasy smudges around the holes they use to enter your home. If you spot unexplained brown or black stains around your eaves vents or loose siding it is a telltale sign of a busy bat doorway.

Your Attic Is Not a Cave
The biggest issue with bats isn't usually the animals themselves but what they leave behind. Bats roost in large numbers and their droppings known as guano accumulate rapidly. This creates a pungent ammonia odor that can seep into your living spaces. More seriously dried guano can harbor a fungus that causes histoplasmosis which is a severe respiratory disease when inhaled.
Bat urine can also stain ceilings and ruin insulation. Furthermore the noise of a colony waking up at dusk to feed can be surprisingly loud and disruptive to your peace and quiet. Ignoring them is not an option because the colony will only get bigger over time.
How We Send Bats Packing
1. The Detective Work (Inspection)
We perform a thorough examination of your home's exterior and attic. We identify the species locate all active entry points and assess the colony size. We find the gaps you didn't even know existed.
2. The One-Way Ticket (Exclusion)
Because bats are protected we do not use poisons. We install specialized one-way devices over primary entry points. These allow bats to leave at night to feed but prevent them from getting back inside.
3. The Fortification (Sealing)
Once we confirm all bats have vacated the premises we remove the devices and permanently seal every potential entry gap with durable materials. We turn your home into a fortress they cannot breach.
4. The Clean Slate (Sanitization)
(Optional but recommended) We can safely remove hazardous guano and soiled insulation then sanitize the area to eliminate odors and harmful spores restoring your attic to a safe state.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you just exterminate the bats?
No. Many bat species are protected by federal and state laws so it is illegal to kill them. We use a humane exclusion process that allows them to leave on their own and prevents them from returning.
Do all bats carry rabies?
Not all of them but they are a high-risk species for rabies transmission. You should never try to catch or handle a bat yourself. If you find one in your living space call a professional immediately to handle it safely.
How do bats get into my attic?
They are incredibly flexible creatures. If you can fit your thumb into a hole a bat can likely squeeze through it. They use vents loose fascia boards ridge caps and gaps around chimneys to find their way inside your home.
Why is there a specific time of year for removal?
We have to respect maternity season which is typically late spring through summer. If we block the mothers out during this time the flightless babies are trapped inside. We must wait until the pups are old enough to fly before performing the exclusion.
Is bat poop (guano) actually dangerous?
Yes it is. Bat guano can grow a fungus that releases spores into the air. If inhaled these spores can cause histoplasmosis which is a serious respiratory illness. It requires professional safety equipment to clean it up effectively.
Will the bats come back after you leave?
Not if we have anything to say about it. Our exclusion process involves sealing the entry points they were using plus any other potential gaps we find. We make it very difficult for them to check back in.
